Tin is one of the earliest metals used by human beings, and it is also one of the metals with a wide range of industrial uses. It has excellent characteristics such as soft texture, low melting point, strong malleability, strong plasticity and non-toxicity. Alloys, chemical products, etc. It is widely used in electronics, information, electrical appliances, chemical industry, metallurgy, building materials, machinery, food packaging, atomic energy and aerospace industries. With the development of economy, its application fields will continue to expand. The specific application is as follows.
1. Solder
Solder: mainly refers to solder with a lower melting point made of tin-based alloys. With the development of the industry and the EU environmental protection requirements, the gradual replacement of lead solder by lead-free solder is an inevitable trend in the development of the global electronics manufacturing industry. At the same time, tin solder is the main application of tin in the electronics industry for electronic welding. This field currently accounts for 70% of the downstream applications of tin in my country. In addition, tin-plated steel sheets and tin chemical products account for 8% and 12% of downstream applications, respectively.
2. Tin plate
Tinplate: commonly known as tinplate, it has good sealing, preservation, light-proof, firmness, corrosion resistance, non-toxic and unique metal decoration charm, and is widely used in the packaging industry of food such as cans and beverages ,, Instrumentation, electrical appliances and other industries. Among them, in the field of packaging, it belongs to the international general packaging varieties. Tinplate is also one of the important consumption areas of tin, accounting for 30% of its total consumption (2010 data).
3. Tin alloy
Common alloys include tin-based bearing alloys composed of tin, antimony, and copper, and lead-based bearing alloys composed of lead, tin, and antimony. They can be used to manufacture bearings for steam turbines, generators, aircraft and other mechanical equipment that are subject to high speed and high pressure. Tin brass can be formed by adding tin to brass, which is mostly used in the manufacture of ship parts and welding bars, and is known as "navy brass". Tin can also be made into movable type alloys with other metals (with the promotion of laser printing technology, type will be gradually eliminated), Babbitt alloys, titanium-based alloys and niobium-tin alloys, etc., used in the atomic energy industry, aviation industry, superconductivity Materials and technology fields such as spacecraft manufacturing.
