Tin wire is a soldering material composed of tin alloy and flux. Lead solder alloy is divided into tin-lead and lead flux. Environmentally friendly solder is composed of tin-copper alloy and lead-free flux. The main function of tin wire is to fill, repair or connect the main soldering material between two electronic components. Can all materials be wire soldered?
The principle of soldering and metals with high solderability
The principle of soldering is to heat and melt the solder and make full use of the liquid "solder" to wet the base plate and fill the gap between the base plate and electronic components. As the ambient temperature decreases in recent years, it will gradually Solidification, so as to achieve solder joints to splice the base plate and electronic components together. Theoretically, the two will be combined by metal chemical bonds to present a continuous joint, but in actual conditions, the base plate is eroded by the air and natural environment, thus forming an oxide film to block the "solder", so that It is difficult to achieve a good wetting effect. The phenomenon is just like water poured on a greased plate. The water can only be concentrated in a part of the place, resulting in the possibility that it cannot be fully and evenly distributed on the plate. Therefore, not all raw materials can be connected by tin wire. Only a small part of the common solder in the market has good solderability (in the final analysis, it may be the nature of soldering) before it can be connected by solder. . For example, materials such as copper and its alloys, gold, silver, zinc, and nickel have good weldability, while materials such as aluminum, stainless steel, and cast iron have poor weldability.
Proper Handling of Weakly Solderable Metals
For some metals with poor weldability, our welding manufacturers also have different solutions. We can choose different metals to add different fluxes or rare metals to improve welding performance, so special welding wire for welding stainless steel, welding wire for stainless steel, etc. Products that are beneficial to these metal welding customers choose practical.
