Everyone knows that in the process of solder wire, rosin is just a kind of flux. There are several aspects such as oil pollution on the surface of the material, increasing the welding area, and preventing re-oxidation, so what role will rosin play in the process?
Rosin can generally increase the fluidity of solder wire and is a flux. Solder paste is only used when soldering iron parts that are difficult to tin. It can remove oxides on the metal surface and is a corrosive agent.
Rosin is the oil flowing out of the trunk of the pine tree, which is melted into water at high temperature, and becomes a massive solid (with no fixed melting point) after drying. Its color is burnt yellow and deep red. It is an important chemical raw material. It is mainly used in daily life when soldering circuit boards. For flux.
In terms of musical instruments, rosin is applied to the bow hairs of erhu, violin, matouqin and other string instruments to increase the friction of the bow hairs on the strings. For learning ballet, rosin acts as an anti-slip effect.
Solder paste is a new type of soldering material that came into being along with SMT. Solder paste is a complex system, which is a paste mixed with solder powder, flux and other additives.
Solder paste has a certain viscosity at room temperature, which can initially stick electronic components to a predetermined position.
It can be seen that the rosin in the flux has the following characteristics:
1. Low corrosion: Rosin is neutral and will not corrode circuit components and soldering iron tips;
2. Removal of oxide film: rosin reacts with other substances in the flux to remove the oxide film;
3. Prevent re-oxidation: After the rosin melts, it floats on the surface of the solder to form an isolation layer to prevent the re-oxidation of the soldering surface;
4. Reduce the surface tension of solder: increase the fluidity of solder and help solder to wet the board;
5. Reduce the probability of false welding: after the rosin is melted, the solder joints are more substantial, thereby reducing the probability of false welding;
6. Make the solder joints brighter and fuller.
