How to judge whether the solder flux is no-clean

Qualified solder flux is not good or bad, and qualified solder flux is only suitable or not. Soldering process, equipment, PCB (circuit board) quality, component quality, solder quality (tin content), operator proficiency, etc. are different, and the selection and requirements for solder flux are also different.
1. For wave soldering, special solder flux for wave soldering should be selected, and manual dip soldering is another.
2. For the spray coating process, special spray solder flux should be selected; for the hand dip coating process, the spray type should be selected; foaming is another.
3. Depending on the degree of oxidation of PCBs and components, solder fluxes with different activity strengths should be used.
4. The purity of the solder is different (tin content), so solder fluxes with different activity strengths should be used.
5. The proficiency of the operator also determines the selection of solder flux.
No targeted selection of suitable solder flux, even the best and most expensive solder flux cannot achieve the best soldering effect, and the best and most expensive solder flux can only play the role of general solder flux.
The solder flux can be qualified or not. At present, there are a large number of unscrupulous merchants in my country, especially in the Pearl River Delta region. In order to make the solder flux have a strong welding ability, they have added some substances that can make the solder flux play a good role in tinning. Prohibition of chemical additives, such additives are very corrosive to PCBs and components, which may cause short circuits and leakage of products, and directly affect product life, increase return rates, and cause serious economic losses.
It is difficult to distinguish whether the solder flux is qualified or not with the naked eye. At most, it only depends on the level of uniformity and the transparency of the color. Furthermore, the grade of raw materials used can also be known from the sense of smell. These are just general identification methods and are not absolute. At present, the no-clean solder flux is commonly used in our country. The density of this kind of solder flux can be measured to make a preliminary judgment, which is generally 0.798+-0.5. No-clean solder flux is divided into low solid content type, rosin type, environmental protection type, water-soluble, hot air leveling, etc., which are suitable for different ranges.
