As a necessary material for reflow soldering in the solder industry, solder paste can be divided into lead-free solder paste and leaded solder paste according to environmental protection standards. Among them, there are 3.0 silver and 0.3 silver environmentally friendly high-temperature solder paste in lead-free solder paste, both of which are Silver-containing environmentally friendly lead-free solder paste series products have passed ROHS certification and are used in SMT reflow soldering processes. So what is the difference between the two, the double Chilean solder manufacturers summarize as follows:
1. The silver content of the two solder pastes is different: 3.0 silver lead-free solder paste contains 3% silver, while 0.3 silver lead-free solder paste contains 0.3% silver.
2. Different melting points: Because of the different silver content, the alloy structure is different, and the melting point also changes accordingly. The alloy of 3.0 silver lead-free solder paste is: Sn96.5Ag3.0Cu0.5, and its melting point is 210-220°C. The alloy of 0.3 silver lead-free solder paste is: Sn99Ag0.3Cu0.7, its melting point: 217-227 ℃. In addition, it is explained that the 3 silver solder paste and the 0.3 silver solder paste have different melting points, and the corresponding operating temperature will also have a certain difference.
3. Different performance: the main performance is in the firmness, fatigue resistance, electrical conductivity and so on. Among them, 3.0 silver lead-free solder paste is a solder paste with the most perfect performance, and it is also the most commonly used lead-free solder paste internationally recognized. The higher the silver content, the better the comprehensive properties. At the same time, the solder climbing rate and fullness are also the strengths of 3.0 lead-free solder paste.
4. The cost is different: the alloy composition of 3.0 silver and 0.3 silver solder paste is different, and the level of silver content plays a very important role. Silver is a precious metal, and the corresponding raw materials are also much more expensive. In addition, the price of solder is also related to the market price. There is a great relationship, the price of 3.0 silver lead-free solder paste is much higher than the price of 0.3 silver.
5. The range of application is different: 3.0 silver can basically be used for welding of all components, and can be used for high, medium and low-end requirements. The 0.3 silver lead-free solder paste can only be used for the soldering of general consumer electronic products, relatively speaking, it is not very demanding for the soldering of mid-end electronic products, and the soldering effect is not very good if it is too precise, such as: dense pins ICs, QFNs, and more.
Through the above comparison, you can better choose different solder pastes to use according to the needs of the product and the characteristics of the solder paste, so as to achieve more soldering effects.
